What it is
CCC’s AI licensing program adapts voluntary collective licensing for generative AI uses. Its live offers include internal AI reuse and external AI training. Higher-education AI reuse rights took effect on July 1, 2026; CCC has also announced transactional, pay-per-use AI rights, but has not publicly confirmed their general availability.
The suite provides an operational path for licensing copyrighted text-based works into AI systems without requiring every publisher or developer to negotiate bespoke bilateral deals.
